Basically it stopped working a few months ago. There is no exclamation mark in device manager on windows but it doesn’t read anything. No great drama as I barely use it and wish I’d never opted for it when configuring the machine. I remember once leaving a card in it and it prevented the machine booting (as it was failing) until I removed the card. It makes me think (although unlikely) it could be interfering with the boot process. I wish it was just an external one that could be easily removed. I double checked the bios boot order and it is not on the list and the order of priority is all correct. A while back I even updated the bios to the latest available as it was quite out of date. But that made no difference as the problem has happened before and after. I do connect my pc to a ups but I don’t think it’s the problem as the issue is so rare and the ups is in good health and also happily supplying my monitor and also my Mac without anything like this. I think it’s a possible windows issue but the fact it’s so rare does puzzle me. I guess I worry most that it does this during a system restart to install updates (it never has so far) which is never good to interfere with System Manufacturer/Model Number: Self Built #Sim card reader drivers install
